Fildena 150 mg contains Sildenafil citrate, a drug primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction. Nasal congestion (a stuffy or runny nose) is a known side effect of sildenafil, and here’s why it happens: Vasodilation (widening of blood vessels): Sildenafil works by inhibiting an enzyme called PDE5, which leads to increased levels of cGMP. This causes relaxation of smooth muscles in blood vessels, leading to vasodilation. While the target is the penile arteries, sildenafil also affects blood vessels elsewhere, including those in the nasal mucosa. The increased blood Fildena 150 Mg in nasal tissues can lead to swelling of the nasal passages and congestion. Effect on nasal mucosa: The nasal lining has many small blood vessels. When these vessels dilate, the tissues can become slightly swollen and engorged, which reduces airflow and produces that “stuffy nose” feeling. Mild fluid retention: Vasodilation can sometimes cause mild leakage of fluid into surrounding tissues, which can also contribute to nasal stuffiness. So, nasal congestion is not uncommon with sildenafil, especially at higher doses like 150 mg, because higher doses lead to more systemic vasodilation, affecting vessels outside the penis. If nasal congestion is bothersome, using a saline nasal spray or taking the drug with lower doses (as prescribed) can sometimes reduce this side effect.
