Hi everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion around something I’ve been observing more and more in the Kenyan corporate and SME space—employee training.
The job market in Kenya is getting increasingly competitive, and organizations that want to retain top talent and stay productive are realizing that employee development is no longer optional—it's essential. Whether it's technical skills, compliance training, or even soft skills like communication and leadership, employee training in Kenya is gaining serious momentum.
A few reasons why I think this shift is happening:
Rapid Technological Change: As industries adopt new tools and platforms, employees need to upskill quickly to remain effective.
Increased Competition: Companies are investing in their teams to differentiate themselves through service quality and innovation.
Retention and Engagement: Employees who receive ongoing training are more engaged and less likely to leave, especially among younger professionals.
Government & NGO Influence: There’s also growing support for workforce development from both government initiatives and international organizations.
I’ve seen many Nairobi-based firms offer custom training sessions—both in-house and outsourced—focused on everything from digital literacy to emotional intelligence.
So I’d love to hear from others:
Has your company invested in employee training in Kenya recently?
Do you prefer in-house training programs or working with external trainers?
What skill gaps are most urgent in your industry? ---------- Employee training Kenya
