Kamagra is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains the active ingredient sildenafil citrate, which works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.

Here's how it works in the body:

Inhibition of PDE5: Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Kamagra, belongs to a class of medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. PDE5 is an enzyme that regulates blood flow in the penis. By inhibiting PDE5, sildenafil allows the blood vessels in the penis to relax and widen, which facilitates increased blood flow.
Increased Nitric Oxide: Sexual stimulation triggers the release of nitric oxide (NO) in the penis. Nitric oxide activates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase, which leads to increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This cyclic guanosine monophosphate helps relax the smooth muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, allowing them to dilate and increase blood flow.
Enhanced Erection: By inhibiting PDE5, sildenafil prolongs the effects of cGMP, thus maintaining increased blood flow to the penis. This enhanced blood flow results in improved erectile function, allowing men with ED to achieve and sustain an erection sufficient for sexual activity.
It's important to note that Kamagra (sildenafil) only works when there is sexual stimulation. It does not automatically cause an erection but helps in achieving and maintaining one when there is arousal. Additionally, Kamagra should be taken as prescribed by a healthcare professional, as improper use can lead to adverse effects.
