NBA Street Vol. 2 falls between between an arcade-style basketball game and an actual game like 2K. 2 was extremely straightforward and a lot of fun. In elementary school, I would play this game on my closest friend's Game Cube almost every day after school. NBA Challenge was my favorite game mode, as I progressed through the NBA, conquering each franchise and legend one by one. It was a dominance-style game that worked well with the 3-on-3 structure we were given. In this version of NBA Street, it all came down to Gamebreakers cuphead; you'd spend the entire game making useless dribble movements and style as hard as you could to fill up that meter. But the true dilemma was whether you used your first Gamebreaker or saved it for the second. When that felt like the most important decision of my day, life was simpler. Doing all of these moves with actual NBA players added to the magic. Something about forcing Kobe Bryant to go "off-the-heezy" against Mike Bibby or Paul Pierce makes me happy.
