Can a Dermatology Fellowship Help You Start Your O

I’m planning to eventually start a small skin clinic, but I’m trying to figure out whether a dermatology fellowship is enough to prepare for that. I know running a clinic is not just about knowledge, but also about confidence in diagnosis and procedures.
Many fellowships claim to cover practical aspects like common skin conditions and basic procedures, but I’m curious how much real hands-on experience they actually provide. Especially when it comes to aesthetic treatments or advanced procedures, is the exposure sufficient to start independently?
If anyone here has completed a fellowship and then moved into private practice, it would really help to know how prepared you felt in the beginning. Did you feel confident handling patients, or was there still a learning curve?
