The duration of a barren island trip is approximately 8-12 hours, depending on the vessel and weather. Trips typically begin in the early morning from Port Blair and involve a few hours of travel (both ways). When approaching the island, boats will cruise around at a safe distance offering panoramic views of the volcano. Occasionally, there might be snorkeling stops nearby. Given it is a day-long trip, it's best to pack accordingly with supplies such as sunscreens, water and comfortable clothing.
