The terms and limitations for passengers who need to change or cancel their cruise reservations are laid forth in the Carnival Cruise Line Cancellation Policy The duration of the voyage, the type of fare booked, and the time of cancellation all affect the policy. Bookings purchased under the normal fare typically allow guests to cancel up to 60 days prior to travel and receive a complete refund. However, there are penalties for cancellations made closer to the departure date, and these penalties get worse as the sailing day draws near. Depending on the particulars of the reservation, there could not be a reimbursement for cancellations made less than 30 days before to travel. Carnival provides vacation protection plans that offer additional flexibility and refund choices, including for unforeseen circumstances or medical reasons, in addition to the usual cancellation policy.
