Vilitra 60 mg is considered a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor because it contains vardenafil as its active ingredient. Vardenafil, like sildenafil (found in Viagra) and tadalafil (found in Cialis), belongs to the class of medications known as PDE5 inhibitors.

Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) is an enzyme found primarily in the smooth muscle cells of the corpus cavernosum of the penis and in the pulmonary vasculature. It plays a role in regulating blood flow by breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), a molecule that promotes relaxation of smooth muscle cells and dilation of blood vessels.

Inhibition of PDE5 by medications like Vilitra 60 MgM/b> prevents the breakdown of cGMP, leading to increased levels of cGMP within the smooth muscle cells. This results in relaxation of the smooth muscle and vasodilation, allowing for increased blood flow to the penis and facilitating the achievement and maintenance of an erection.

Vilitra 60 mg, therefore, works by inhibiting the action of PDE5, which enhances the natural erectile response to sexual stimulation. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men, helping them achieve and maintain erections suitable for sexual activity.

It's important to note that while Vilitra 60 mg and other PDE5 inhibitors are effective for many men with ED, they are not aphrodisiacs and do not increase sexual desire. They work specifically to enhance the physiological processes involved in achieving an erection when a man is sexually aroused.
