My favorite aspect of traveling has never been flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), but my recent encounter with Air Canada EWR Terminal from the recently opened Terminal A changed that. I honestly prepared myself for long lines and antiquated facilities when I traveled to Toronto for a brief business trip. Instead, I had one of the most seamless and up-to-date airport experiences I've ever had in the New York region. From the moment I entered Terminal A, it was clear this wasn’t the old Newark I remembered. The terminal felt open and airy, with high ceilings, tons of natural light, and a surprisingly calm atmosphere. Air Canada’s check-in counters were easy to find, and the self-service kiosks made the process fast and painless. There were staff nearby to assist, which was helpful for travelers juggling bags or questions. Security moved quickly, thanks to the updated layout and clearly organized lanes. Once inside, I had time to grab a coffee and check out the new food offerings. Terminal A has a nice mix of familiar chains and local spots, and everything looked clean and well-managed. Although Air Canada doesn’t operate its own lounge here, the general seating areas were comfortable, with plenty of charging outlets and space to relax before the flight. I found a quiet seat near my gate with a great view of the runway and actually felt myself unwind—a rare feeling at a busy airport. Boarding was orderly, and everything ran on time. For anyone flying Newark Airport Air Canada Terminal out of EWR, Terminal A is a welcome surprise. It’s efficient, stylish, and thoughtfully designed—proof that even long-standing airports can be transformed into something fresh and traveler-friendly. I’d fly out of there again in a heartbeat.
